The price range of the five models launched this time is between 19.58 and 268,800 yuan. As the fifth generation product, its new design style subverts the traditional impression of the past, showing a more solid and tough shape, although in the US market performance, it is still unknown whether it can break the downturn in domestic sales. In this issue, we selected the 2024 2.0T four-wheel drive Connoisseur Ultra model of 268,800 yuan to deeply explore its market competitiveness.

The fifth generation of Shengda uses a new design concept, and its three-dimensional straight line appearance is clearly revealed. Looking at the new car, we found that it uses a slender front grille design, supplemented by a through-through LED light strip, while the central black honeycomb grille adds a LED light strip to enhance the recognition of the front face. The H-shaped shape of the front bumper and the H-shaped LED daily running lights further enhance the visual appeal of the vehicle.

From the side view Angle, the new car maintains the design characteristics of prominent edges and slightly convex eyebrows, and is matched with exquisite close-spoke wheels, showing a fashionable and strong temperament. At the same time, the popular suspension roof design, as well as the black roof rack, not only improves the practicality, but also adds a sense of three-dimensional. Its body size remains the standard for a mid-size SUV, with a length, width and height of 4830/1900/1770(1780)mm, and a wheelbase of 2815mm.

On the interior, the new car features a dual 12.3-inch screen design very similar to the all-new Sonata, with a HUD head-up display. The physical buttons under the center console provide convenient operation for various functions. In addition, the new Shengda is also specially equipped with two wireless charging boards and ultraviolet disinfection function in the armrest, which shows the manufacturer’s attention. In terms of driving assistance technology, the experience car is equipped with a Level 2 driver assistance system with full-speed adaptive cruise, active braking, lane keeping and early warning functions, and hardware including five millimeter wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars and five cameras.

As far as seats are concerned, the interior of the six-seater experience vehicle is wrapped in Nappa leather, not only the front seats have heating, ventilation and side support functions, the second row seats can be electrically adjusted with boss keys and heating functions, the third row seats can be completely flat, the expanded trunk space of up to 2046L, and the entire interior also has 31 storage Spaces. In terms of riding space, the editor with a height of 177cm has a head allowance after the front seat is adjusted to the lowest level, the back row is also spacious, and the middle floor is kept flat, ensuring the riding comfort when fully loaded.

The 2.0T engine has a maximum output of 182 kW (248 HP) and a peak torque of 353 nm, and is equipped with an 8-speed manual transmission. The top version also offers the HTRAC smart all-wheel-drive system, while starting with the lower-priced Explorer Pro, the all-wheel-drive system is optional for a fee of 10,000 yuan.
In summary, the unique square exterior and functional interior design of the new Shengda, combined with a competitive price, should be able to gain a place in the market. Although the body size has been reduced, the riding space has not been affected, but the flexible seat layout options are provided. Whether it can change Beijing Hyundai’s decline in the domestic market remains to be seen, right?
